When I first got the game, I thought that the players who caught on to the correct answer phrasing would be better, but the answers are so varied that (almost) everyone has a good chance of winning that round. Every time I play this, I laugh until I cry. I have played with groups as small as 3 and as large as 11 (with players aged 6-78) and it is always hilarious.
Because the game does not require one to be knowledgeable in any particular subject or in trivia, no one has to feel like they won't do well. I purchased Balderdash for the Christmas crowd we'd be staying with. So I would highly recommend this game of you want your group to have fun. One can make up an answer for each round. The ages were early twenties to mid-fifties and we all had fun. We were laughing very, very hard at times.
It's a great game for a group of friends or to get the family together. Love this game.
Although the younger set may not enjoy it being more familiar with video games, it does have a good subliminal educational attribute without players being aware that the actual answers to the bluffs they write will stick in their minds for a long time. The game is not a new one, but almost as classic as Monopoly. It's a great party game that tends to get even more interesting as the night goes on, especially if there are a few drinks involved.
Even our teenage grandchildren love this game. Great game - lots of fun, spurs creativity and encourages thinking.
